Molykote P-40 is a metal-free, yellowish-brown assembly paste consisting of synthetic base oil and white solid lubricants. It adheres well to surfaces, is water-resistant and prevents seizure and fretting corrosion in frequently dismantled and reassembled connections. Its colour makes it easy to check the areas where it has been applied.

  • Applications: Brake mechanisms and brake rods, bushings, guide pins, splined shafts, bearing assembly, axles, cams, open gears and marine applications; threaded connections in harsh, hot or splash-water environments.
  • Features: Metal-free, good adhesion, corrosion and water resistance, continuous lubrication, protection against fretting wear.
  • Typical properties: -40 °C to +121 °C as a paste; up to +1093 °C as a dry lubricant. Base oil viscosity approx. 400 mm²/s at 40 °C.
